Recital Week Peace??
This really should be the most stressful week of my life, so why do I feel this overwhelming peace?
Two words: Only Jesus
Recital week is filled with last minute editing, organizing, answering questions, sorting tickets, and typically I end up a frizzy haired emotional mess ready to collapse on the couch by the end of the week... But this week, with all of those things plus being displaced from my home, solo parenting and sorting out umpteen legal and financial issues I have the most amazing peace... (If you missed what is going on in our household refer to the last blog post)
How is this possible? Well, people keep texting me and saying "The Lord brought you to my mind and I don't know why but I have been praying for you" These are people who don't know what is going on in our household but feel the Holy Spirit prompting them and they obey, and they might not have known why, but I can tell you I can feel the result of their prayers.
"The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." James 5:16b
Prayer is so powerful! It is never wasted!
"Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them praise" James 5:13
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Philippians 4:6
Would you join me in praying for recital? That the spirit of God would be present in the theatre and that the gospel would be clearly demonstrated?
A dear dance mom who passed away a few years ago once told me "We should share the gospel and sometimes use words"... This is still so true and powerful for me as we continue to use dance to share the gospel of Grace.
"Oh God, you are such a good good father, and we can come to you with any aching in our heart. God I just have a yearning that the production this week would honor you, God that we could share the gospel even with the way that we treat those around us and exude the peace that passes all understanding. God if just one person could come to know you deeper or for the first time from this then all the work in the world would be worth it. Thank you for the hope and grace and salvation that you give us freely - may everyone experience and feel that this week, Amen!"
